  • Michael Cuffee joins UCC Casalpusterlengo - Dec 15, 2009
    Michael Cuffee (193-F-83, college: Middle Tenn.St.) reached an agreement with LegaDue side UCC Casalpusterlengo. The 26-year-old forward will spend the reminder of the season in Italy. Last year Michael Cuffee played for Fileni Jesi in Italy and he averaged 15.6 points, 5.6 boards and 2.8 steals per game. Cuffee signed with Erdemirspor this summer but left the team prior to the start of the season.
  • Adrian Hill signs in Pro A Germany - Dec 10, 2009
    Jena (Pro A Germany) has found its American big man and signed with Adrian Hill (203-F-84, college: Rutgers) for coming 2009-2010 season. Hill is an aggressive, explosive athlete, who can play both the power forward and center positions. Hill started his international basketball career 2007 in Spain (Akasvayu Vic, LEB Silver), where he played 12 games and averaged 6,7 ppg and 2,8 rpg.
  • Etendard de Brest sign Gaston Essengue - Oct 13, 2009
    Etendard de Brest (ProB) added to their roster 26-year old Cameroonian forward Gaston Essengue (203-F-83, college: UNLV). Essengue played for West-Brabant Giants Bergen op Zoom in Holland last year, where he averaged 7.7ppg, 5.1rpg, 1.1spg in 27 games. He played also this summer for Cameroonian National Team at African Championships where he helped his team to make it to the semifinals and he averaged: 10.1ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.1spg. He was also voted by Africabasket.com to All-African Championships 3rd Team.
  • Matt Kingsley inks with Polonia - Oct 9, 2009
    Matt Kingsley (206-F-86) will join Polonia Warszawa in Poland, for the 2009-2010 season. Kingsley led SFA to the NCAA Tournament this past season and he averaged career highs in both points and rebounds with 15.8 ppg & 7.7 rpg. After leading SFA to a 2nd consecutive Southland Conference championship, Kingsley was named the SLC Player of the Year and he finished the regular season ranked 3rd in the Conference in scoring and 5th in rebounding. His 55.2-percent shooting average ranked 5th in the league and Kingsley was the only player in the Southland to finish in the top five in all three categories. He also attended workouts with the Houston Rockets and then spent some time in the training camp of Lithuanian Siauliai.
  • Andre Harris signs with Saint-Etienne in France - Oct 8, 2009
    Andre Harris (201-F/C-85, college: Fairleigh Dickinson) played in Israel National League last season with quite impressive stats (leading scorer in the league with 25ppg with 62,2% and 8,3rpg). During the season moved to Hapoel Kyriat Tivon, which finished eighth before failing in quarterfinal of the play-offs. Harris was named 1st Team All-North East Conference & won the league scoring title in 2006-07 (18.8 ppg) and he played his 1st professional season with the West-Brabant Giants in the Dutch League averaging 14.5 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game.
  • Tony Lee strengthens Ventspils - Sep 28, 2009
    Tony Lee (183-G-86, college: Robert Morris) joined the Latvian champions Ventspils. The 23-year-old guard can don the teams jersey as soon as tomorrow when Ventspils host Benetton in the Euroleague Qualifying Round. Tony Lee spent the previous season in ISS Sportino in Poland. He averaged 10.6 points, 4.0 boards, 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals per game in the DBE. Lee graduated from Robert Morris University in 2008. He tallied 13.6 points, 6.6 boards, 6.4 assists and 2.8 steals for the Colonials in the senior season. Tony Lee was named the All-NEC Player of the Year that year.
  • Darrell Harris signs with SKK Kotwica Kolobrzeg in Poland - Aug 30, 2009
    Darrell Harris (6’10” / Rhode Island), the 2008 Portuguese League Player of the Year, has signed a 1-year contract with SKK Kotwica Kolobrzeg in Poland. Harris led the Portuguese league in rebounds and blocked shots and he finished the 2008 season averaging 18.5 ppg, 12.5 rpg, and 2.1 blocks per game. His other awards this season include the Center of the Year, Import of the Year, and 1st Team All-League. Harris played in Spain LEB1 and Uruguay during the 2008-09 season.
  • University of San Diego’s all-time leading scorer, Gyno Pomare, signs in Japan – Aug 18, 2009
    Gyno Pomare (6'8" / San Diego) has signed with the Sendai 89ers of the Japanese BJ League for the 2009-10 season. Selected to the 2009 1st Team All-West Coast Conference squad (3rd straight year being named 1st Team All Conference), Pomare finished this season with team-best averages of 13.8 points and 5.9 rebounds. He ranked 4th in the WCC in field goal percentage (.533), 8th in scoring and 10th in rebounding. He also leaves the University of San Diego as the program's all-time leading scorer.
  • Anthony Farmer signs with Debreceni in Hungary – Aug 17, 2009
    Anthony Farmer (6'0" / Rutgers) has signed with Debreceni Egyetem Ke in the A Division Hungarian League. After being named to the All Big East Rookie Team in 2006, Farmer went on to average 7.8 ppg his sophomore season, 10.2 ppg his junior season, and 9.1 ppg this past season. He was named to the All-Tournament Team in the Orlando Invitational Tournament this summer and he will be Debreceni's floorleader this season.
  • Everux closes 2009/10 roster with signing of Michael Doles - Aug 11, 2009
    Everux announced signing of American forward Michael Doles (198-F-82, college: Va Commonwealth) for the upcoming Pro B season. Michael Doles is coming to Evreux from NM1 team Angers BC 49. He appeared 29 times last season in this competition collecting 18.5 ppg, 6 rpg, 1.2 apg and 1.3 spg. He was third best scorer in NM1. In 2008 Doles was named 'Eurobasket.com All-French N1 Import Player of the Year -08'. Michael Doles joined Angers in 2007 from Swiss team Geneva Devils. In 2006/07 the Devils reached LNA Semifinals and Doles averaged 20.8 ppg, 3.3 rpg and 1.6 spg. His first season overseas was with Mardyke UCC Demons Cork in Ireland.
  • Texas Tech's Devonne Giles signs with Nantes in France - Aug 11, 2009
    Devonne Giles (6'8" / Texas Tech), the 2008 Dutch League Forward of the Year, has signed with Hermine Nantes Atlantique in Pro-B France. Giles, who led Effiel Towers to a Cup Championship and to the Dutch League Finals, will play his first professional season outside of Holland in 2009-10. He appeared in 16 FIBA EuroChallenge games last season and he averaged 10.2 ppg and 5.7 rpg in those games.
  • Former Pittsburgh Panther, Mike Cook, signs to play in BBL – Aug 11, 2009
    Mike Cook (6’4” / Pittsburgh) has signed to play for the Sheffield Sharks in the United Kingdom-BBL. Cook started all 37 games for Pittsburgh in 2006-07, ranked 2nd on the squad in both scoring (10.5 ppg.) and assists (95), reached double figures in 21 of 37 games. Since leaving graduating from Pittsburgh, Mike has been drafted in the CBA, played in the D League, and he has signed his 1st European contract now with the Sheffield Sharks.
  • A1 Greek club, DASH Peristeri Athens, signs Clemson’s Cliff Hammonds - Aug 7, 2009
    Cliff Hammonds (6’2” / Clemson) will join the DASH Peristeri Basketball Club in A1 Greece for the 2009-10 season. Hammonds appeared in 5 EuroLeague with Efes Pilsen and led Darussafaka to a playoff appearance in the Turkish League. He was named third-team All-ACC after leading the Tigers in assists (133) and steals (66), and ranking second on the team in scoring. He averaged 11.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.94 steals per game and sparked the Tigers to a 24-10 record and a No. 22 ranking in the final AP poll. He also guided Clemson to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 10 years and first ACC Tournament championship appearance in 46 years.
  • Tyrone Riley heading to play with the Finnish Champions - Aug 7, 2009
    Finnish Champion 2009 YMCA Lahti and Head Coach Sami Toiviainen have signed Tyrone Riley (201-F-82, college: USF) for the 2009-10 season. Riley has played professional basketball already in Holland, in Poland and in Germany (TBB Trier), where he averaged 4.9 ppg and 2.8 rpg last season.
  • Verviers signs the 2008 A-10 Defensive POY, Stanley Burrell - Aug 2, 2009
    VOO Verviers-Pepinster has announced the acquisition of American guard Stanley Burrell (190-G-84). Burrell played college ball at Xavier where he played his final season in 2007-2008. That year he averaged 9.7 ppg, 3.8 apg and was voted Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year and 3rd team All Atlantic 10. Averaged over 12 ppg over his 4 year college career with 14.2 ppg in his sophomore year. Played 17 games for Bosna Sarajevo in the Adriatic League with averages of 9.7 ppg and 2.8 apg. He then headed back to the US to play for the the NBDL's Austin Toros. With the Toros he averaged 6.1 ppg and 2.0 apg in 23 games.
  • Adrian Banks returns to Belgium to play for Belgacom Liege Basket - July 28, 2009
    Belgacom Liege Basket, one of the FIBA EuroChallenge teams in Belgium, has signed Adrian Banks (6’3” / Arkansas State) to a one-year contract. Banks played for VOO Verviers Pepinster last season in Belgium and was 3rd in the league in scoring (16.8 ppg). He played at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in 2008 after averaging 18.4ppg and 3.4rpg at Arkansas State his senior season.
  • Jerome Beasley signs to return to Eiffel Towers Den Bosch - Jul 25, 2009
    Former NBA player, Jerome Beasley (6'10" / North Dakota), has resigned a one-year deal to play for Eiffel Towers Den Bosch in Holland for the 2009-10 season. Beasley averaged 14.8 ppg and 7.4 rpg in 25 regular season games this past season for the Effiel Towers and he averaged 16.3 and 6.6 rpg in eight FIBA EuroChallenge games in 2008-09.
  • Aris Friesland resigns Tristan Blackwood - Jul 25, 2009
    Tristan Blackwood (6'0" / CCSU) has resigned a one-year deal to play for Aris Friesland in Holland for the 2009-10 season. He averaged 11.3 ppg and 4.3 apg last season with Aris Friesland. Blackwood was named 1st Team All-Conference as well as the Co-Defensive Player of the Year in the NEC in 2008 (Blackwood won both awards as well his junior season). He averaged 16.4 points per game this season and dished out a team-high 153 assists. He was also the first player in school history and the fifth in NEC history to post 1,500 career points and 500 career assists.
  • Donovan Morris signed with Falco KC - Jul 22, 2009
    The management of the team published yesterday, they signed a one year contract with the american rookie. Donovan Morris (191-G-84, college: Fresno St.) started his NCAA carreer on the University of Fresno State but left after his sophomore season and got to Long Beach State. Due to the NCAA rules, he could not play one year, so played his junior season in 2007-08, when he averaged 21.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. In his senior season he could not put up the same good numbers as the coaching staff of the team changed its strategy, but he had also a great season with 14.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.
  • Kyle Landry signed to bolster Prostejov - Jul 15, 2009
    Prostejov have recently signed Kyle Landry to join the team for the upcoming season. Kyle Landry (206-F-86, college: N.Arizona) started the last season in Poland playing for Sportino Inowroclaw. The 23-year-old Canadian forward averaged 12.5 points, 10.3 boards per game. He then moved to Belgium to play for Dexia Mons-Hainaut in D1. In five games his stats came up to 3.0 points and 4.2 boards. Kyle Landry graduated from North Arizona University where he tallied 17.5 points, 8.1 boards and 1.0 steals per game in his senior year.
  • Kouvot signed Kyle Shiloh - Jul 14, 2009
    Kouvot (Kouvola) has found its point guard by signing American G Kyle Shiloh (190-G-85, college: Nevada) and he averaged 17.7 points per game, 7.1 rebounds per game, and 2.0 steals per game in 39 games in Finland in 2007-08.
  • Wichita State's Kyle Wilson signed with ZTE KK in Hungary - Jul 8, 2009
    The 206 cm tall power forward signed a one year contract with the 3rd place team of our first division, but will have to impress the coaching staff about his abilities during a two weeks tryout period in September. Kyle Wilson (206-F-83, college: Wichita St.) had a great NCAA carreer on Wichita State, helped his team into the Sweet 16 in 2006. In his senior season he averaged 13.7ppg, 5.2rpg, 1.7apg, FGP: 44.8%, 3Pts: 36.4%, FT: 84.9% in 31 games. He signed his first professional contract with TBB Trier in Germany, but got released after only 8 games. He had not to wait long for a new job, as the austrian WBC WELS decided to get him on its roster. He played 20 games on coach Korners team and averaged 9.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. Last summer he signed with ENAD Agios Dometios in Cyprus and had a good season start averaging 14.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Wilson decided to leave the team after 9 games because of financial problems of the club.
  • Alvin Snow rejoins Helios in the Adriatic League - Jul 3, 2009
    Alvin Snow (6'2" / E. Washington) has resigned with Helios in Slovenia for the 2009-10 season. Snow appeared in 25 Adriatic League games this past season and he averaged 12.5 ppg, 2.1 rpg, and 2.1 apg. He also appeared in 37 Slovenian League games for Helios last season where he averaged 13.3 ppg, 2.8 rpg, and 2.0 apg. Snow also led Helios to the League Championship in Slovenia in 2009.
  • Former Tennessee Vol, Scooter McFadgon, signs with Brest - July 1, 2009
    Scooter McFadgon (6'5" / Tennessee) has signed with Etendard de Brest in France-ProB for the 2009-10 season. He appeared in 48 games with the Bakersfield in the D League and averaged 16.1 ppg, 3.7 rpg, and 2.0 apg in the 2007-08 season and the played in the Ukraine and Phillipines in 2009.
  • Tim Blue Signs With GasTerra Flames - Jun 23, 2009
    The 25-year-old Tim Blue (205-F-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) has decided to continue his career in the Netherlands, choosing the relative security in Holland over the uncertainty elsewhere in Europe. The WestBrabant Giants star Tim Blue signed a one-year deal with GasTerra Flames today, Blue played the last two years at Bergen op Zoom and was one of the trendsetters of the Eredivisie. Tim Blue played 40 games for WestBrabant Giants last season and averaged 15.4ppg and 6.2rpg.
  • Texas Tech’s Alan Voskuil signs 4-year deal in ACB Spain - May 7, 2009
    Alan Voskuil (6'3" / Texas Tech) has signed a four-year deal to play with Fuenlabrada Madrid in Spain-ACB. Named to the 2009 Big 12 Honorable Mention Team, Voskuil led Texas Tech averaging 14.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg, and 2.1 apg this past season. He also ranked among the national leaders in 3-point percentage (14th in the country at 44.9%), free-throw shooting (5th in the country at 89.6%) and he scored a career high 35 points against Kansas on Senior Night.
  • Marcus Sloan named the Player of the Year in Switzerland - May 7, 2009
    The Eurobasket.com All-Swiss LNA Awards named Marcus Sloan (6’9” / TCU) the Import of the Year, the Defensive Player of the Year, and the Center of the Year. Sloan led Benetton Fribourg Olympic to its 3rd straight Coupe de la Ligue (Swiss Cup Championship) and he is seeking the club’s 2nd consecutive Swiss League Championship this spring as well.
  • Rome Sanders joins GUG in Dominican Republic (2/14/09)
    Rome Sanders (6'8" / Florida A & M), who was named to the 2007 All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference 1st Team, has signed in the Dominican Republic-SRT to play with the Gregorio Urbano Gilbert basketball team. Sanders, a center from Chicago, Ill., averaged 16.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game this season and played on the Dominican National team in the summer of 2007. He ranked second in the MEAC and fifth in the NCAA in field goal percentage at 65.3 percent.
  • Hammonds Promoted to Euroleague with Efes Pilsen (12/4/08)
    After losing 3 games in a row in the Euroleague Efes Pilsen decided to promote former Clemson star Clifford Hammonds (191-G-85, college: Clemson) to their Euroleague roster from its farm team Darussafaka Cooper Tires. According to the agreement signed in summer Efes Pilsen sent the youngsters such as Baris Hersek (204-F/C-88) to Darussafaka and have the right to promote players from the Greens including their imports. Hammonds will be one of only two U.S. rookies to play in the Euroleague this season.
  • Mountain State’s, James Spencer, signs with Etha in Cyprus (10/10/08)
    James Spencer (6’4” / Mountain State) has signed with InterCollege Etha Engomis in Cyprus-Division A for the 2008-09 season. Named 1st team NAIA All-America, Spencer averaged 23.5 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 2.2 apg in 37 games this past season. His 23.5 points per game was 2nd most in the nation and it helped lead Mountain State to the NAIA national championship game vs. Oklahoma City University.
  • Chad McKenzie signs with FC Barreirense (POR-UZO Liga) in Portugal (9/20/08)
    Chad McKenzie (6'6" / Louisiana Tech), who played the 2007-08 season with Muenchen Basket in ProB Germany, has signed in the top league in Portugal with FC Barreirense. McKenzie was named to the Eurobasket.com All-Defensive Team and he averaged 18.9 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game last season. As a senior at Louisiana Tech, he played in 30 games for the Bulldogs averaging 12.9 ppg, 7.0 rpg, and 2.4 apg and he led LA Tech to the WAC tournament semi-finals.
  • WVU’s Darris Nichols signs a 1-year deal in Hungary (8/22/08)
    Darris Nichols (6’2” / West Virginia), who started 73 consecutive games at point guard and led WVU to the NCAA Sweet 16 this season, has signed a 1-year deal with Atomeromu SE in Hungary. West Virginia was 99-42 during Nichols’ career and Nichols holds the school record for career games played. He received the 2008 BIG EAST Sportsmanship Award and he averaged 10.7 points per game and led the team in assists with 119. Nichols also had just 42 turnovers in 1,282 minutes, an average of just over one turnover a game in 34.6 minutes per game this season and for his career, he had 399 assists and 135 turnovers in 3,528 minutes.
  • Maurice Hargrow signs with Qatar Sport Club (8/7/08)
    University of Minnesota basketball player, Maurice Hargrow (6'5" / Minnesota), has signed with the Qatar Sport Club in the Qatar Basketball Federation. Hargrow averaged 11.2 ppg and 3.4 rpg in Big Ten competition in 2005-06 and he ranks 30th on the Minnesota career scoring chart with 1,021 career points. He played with the Charlotte Bobcats in the NBA Orlando Summer League in 2006 and he played in England, Luxembourg, and Austria the last two seasons.
  • Al Beye lost in Auto Accident (12/15/06)
    Al Beye, a first-team all-Big Sky basketball selection last season as a senior at Montana State, died in an automobile accident, school officials said Saturday. The one-vehicle rollover happened Friday night in Dillon, Montana, where Beye, a 24 year old native of Senegal, was visiting his brother, Assane Beye, 25. Al Beye was in a vehicle driven by his brother as the two traveled to a Christmas party about five miles from Dillon, Beaverhead County Sheriff Jay Hansen said.
