2007-2008: CAB Madeira Funchal (Portugal-UZO Liga): Played in 10 games and averaged 12.9 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game... had a season high 22 points against Casino Figueira Ginásio 12/09/07... left the team in Jan.'08 due to knee injury... started the season with Polphamra-Pakmet Starogard Gd. (Poland-DBE) and left before the season started.

2006-2007 (SENIOR): Named to the 2007 All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Basketball First Team... averaged 16.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game... ranked second in the MEAC and fifth in the NCAA in field goal percentage at 65.3 percent... scored a season high 26 points against both Delaware State (Feb. 24) and Morgan State (Jan. 3).

2005-2006 (JUNIOR): Sanders started in 27 of the 31 Rattlers games last season averaging 11.1 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. He led the conference in field goal percentage (57.8 percent). Sanders scored a career high 27 points and pulled down 11 rebounds against Morgan State (2-4-06), 20 points against Howard University (1-23-06) and punched in 19 points against Coppin State (1-9-06).

2003-2004 (NIU):Averaged 5.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for the Huskies... scored a season high 15 points against Marshall University (12-12-03)... posted a 14 points night against Bradley University (2-21-04)... garnered a 12 points performance on two occasions on the season against Toledo (1-31-03) and Bowling Green ( 2-18-04)... had 262 career rebounds in two seasons at NIU... pulled down a season high 10 caroms against Eastern Michigan (1-14-04) and Central Michigan (2-9-04)... posted two nine (9) rebounds performances on the year against Iowa (12-6-03) and Ball State (1-20-04).

2002-2003 (NIU): Played in all 31 of the Huskies' games, while starting in seven (7) of them averaging 5.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game... Scored a season high 17 points and pulled down a season high 13 caroms against Loyola-Chicago (11-27-02).

HIGH SCHOOL: Sanders was a four-year letter winner in basketball at Currie High School in Chicago, Ill. He finished his senior averaging 17points, 13 rebounds, three (3) assists and one steal per game for Currie High School. He was named the team's Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year. Sanders reaped first team all-city and first team all-conference honors. In addition, Sanders received second team all-state honors.

PERSONAL: Born: Rome Rafael Sanders was born on March 20, 1984 to Theresa Sanders. He has two siblings Angela Sanders (26) and Tavon Sanders (11). Sanders is currently majoring in Criminal Justice.
